POLICE are appealing for information after a stabbing near the demolished Greenwich District Hospital.

A 25-year-old man who was driving a dark-coloured VW Golf down Trafalgar Road, Greenwich, was stabbed following an argument with another driver.

The two men got out of their cars and began fighting. The victim was stabbed by the other man, who was driving a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

At 11.30pm, around an hour after the incident on July 16, a team of police officers stopped a blue Vauxhall Corsa near Bugsby Way, Charlton.

The 26-year-old driver was arrested in connection with the stabbing before receiving hospital treatment after he was found to be suffering from head injuries.

He was later released on bail to reappear at south London police station on August 15.

The stab victim is recovering at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Stadium Way, Woolwich, where his condition was described as stable at the time of going to press.
