A THEATRE group will be holding a community festival to celebrate Refugee Week.
Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre will be holding its Empower All Festival at Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, on June 24.
There will be a procession starting at noon from Powis Street followed by activities such as World Cup five-a-side football and face painting.
During Refugee Week the group will be touring with a drama production called Shell Shocked to Greenwich primary schools including Charlton Manor, Indus Road, Charlton, and Mulgrave, Macbean Street, Woolwich. Artistic director Jeremy James said: "Shell Shocked is about two characters both on the road, fleeing a war zone.
"It demonstrates the reasons why refugees exist. It's not their choice. "Refugee Week is very important in showing positive ways these people can contribute to our community.
Refugee Week runs from June 19 to June 25. For further details, visit the website refugeeweek.co.uk
