LEWISHAM Hospital has drawn up a new visitors' charter in partnership with its patients' forum.

The charter recognises the important role visitors play in helping patients and sets out how they can best help the hospital, in Lewisham High Street, improve its patient care.

It is part of a series of initiatives taken by the hospital to improve its services.

Other key parts of the charter ask visitors to use public transport where possible to travel to the hospital due to restricted onsite parking.

Chief executive Claire Perry said: "This new charter sets out to make visitors welcome and informs them how they can best help their friends and loved ones recovering in hospital.

"It is crucial in the relationship between a hospital and people who visit both know their obligations to each other."
