STUDENTS will be able to get their hands on free condoms as part of a sexual health campaign.
More than 1,000 students at Lewisham College are set to receive a Condom Card which will give them free access to the contraceptives at the college and in sexual health clinics across the borough.
Students aged between 16 and 19 will receive tutorials on condom use over the coming months.
They will then have to pass a test about condom use to qualify for the Condom Card.
The innovative scheme has been funded by the Lewisham Teenage Pregnancy Unit and Lewisham Primary Care Trust at a cost of £12,000.
Lewisham College has teamed up with the charity Working With Men, which designed the package.
Working With Men's director Trefor Lloyd said: "The components of the scheme will also engage young people to think about their sexual behaviour and practice and inform them of sexual health services which they can easily access."
