HEALTH chiefs have moved to ensure a breast cancer sufferer can continue to receive life-saving treatment from home.
Last week News Shopper reported how red tape meant Janine McDonald was denied Herceptin free on the NHS.
But now Lewisham Primary Care Trust (PCT) has agreed Miss McDonald, 36, can continue to receive the drug into the New Year.
Mother-of-one Miss McDonald, of Brookmill Road, Deptford, said: "I'm very happy this has been sorted out. Hopefully this means I can have some treatment before Christmas."
Last month the PCT said it would fund Miss McDonald's treatment, making her the first person in the early stages of the illness to take Herceptin.
However she has missed out on two lots of treatment due to a communication delay between the PCT and Guy's Hospital, where she is being treated.
