A HYBRID bill for the long-delayed Crossrail scheme linking east and west London will be introduced into Parliament for a first reading in nine weeks.
The Crossrail hybrid bill for the £10bn project to run trains from Heathrow in the west to Ebbsfleet in the east was announced in the Queen's Speech two weeks ago.
And it was revealed for the moment the trains will only run as far as Abbey Wood while the rest of the route to Ebbsfleet will be safeguarded so it can be extended at a later date.
The Government plans to introduce the hybrid bill into Parliament for a first reading on February 17, 2005.
