Bishop takes to the sky

A BISHOP will provide the high point of a religious event by taking to the skies in a hot air balloon.

The Rt Rev Christopher Chessun, Bishop of Woolwich, will fly in the balloon along with young people to pray for the people of Sydenham and Forest Hill.

It will form part of the Here Our Prayer event, a gathering of 21 churches from Sydenham and Forest Hill for a weekend of activities and to pray for local concerns.

After the balloon ride at Alexandra Junior School, Cator Road, the Bishop will lead the closing celebrations at St Bartholomew's Church, Westwood Hill, Sydenham.

Here Our Prayer will also feature Ghanaian-style worship, drama workshops and a prayer labyrinth.

It runs from September 12 to September 14.
