NEWS Shopper is looking for talented young writers - and there are prizes up for grabs for the best articles.

If you are 19 or under, you could get your work published on News Shopper's website and possibly share in £100 of monthly prizes.

We are looking for exciting young writers to give a youthful slant to our web content.

A year ago we chose two online youth editors who have submitted regular articles on a wide range of topics for our Youth section.

Their year-long appointments are coming to an end - but rather than directly replace them, we instead want to give every young person the opportunity to be involved.

To qualify you just have to be a teenager living somewhere in our newspaper circulation area, and you need to submit an article which will interest our readers.

Perhaps you are an outspoken young person who has lots of opinions you want to share.

Or maybe you are interested in being a journalist and want to get a foothold by having some work published.

This could be the chance for you.

All the articles received will be published on newsshopper.co.uk and at the end of each month two writers will be chosen to each receive a £50 prize.

Consideration will be given to how many people read each article and how many comments are posted, but the main factor in deciding the winners will be how well written the articles are.

For some months we may pick topics we want all articles to focus on but for now you can write about anything you like.

You may pick weighty issues such as crime, transport, money or exams, or you can choose more light-hearted subjects to write about such as hobbies or social activities you enjoy.

Submit your articles to web editor Simon Bull at sbull@london.newsquest.co.uk, making sure you include your name, age and where you live.
