A SCHOOL'S science week went with a bang with fizzing experiments and chemical reactions.
Youngsters at Lee Manor School, in Leahurst Road, Lewisham, made giant bubbles, built structures out of spaghetti and poured fizzy drinks into balloons, and shook them, to make them expand.
Firefighters from London Fire Brigade chatted to pupils about safety, and children competed in a Ready Steady Cook-style healthy food competition.
Educational theatre company Quantum Theatre for Science paid the school a visit and performed a play about evolution.
The week, April 28 to May 2, was designed to help pupils develop a greater understanding of the subject.
"It was all sorts of science - chemistry, biology and physical science," said Joan Thurgar, science co-ordinator.
