Searching for best recycling street

A SEARCH is on for the greenest street in a borough.

Lewisham Council wants dedicated recyclers to encourage the activity on their road.

Roads taking part will have their recycling rate measured when they are nominated and again six weeks later.

The street which sees the biggest increase in recycling in terms of the number of people recycling three or more types of material, such as glass, paper and plastic, will be crowned the borough's best recycling street.

A Best Recycling Street in Lewisham sign will be erected on the winning road and the winner will receive a Recycling Champion plaque.

To get involved call 020 8314 2245, 020 8314 2053, or email recycle@lewisham.gov.uk to request an entry form and more information.

The closing date for nominations is May 16.
