Sydenham School's arts faculty members Caia Henderson, Polly White, Kate Slipper, Martin Edwards and Stephanie Bailey dress as the Scooby Doo mystery gang
WITCHES, pirates, and talking dogs were among the characters celebrating reading in school.
Students at Sydenham School, Dartmouth Road, Sydenham, came in dressed as characters from literature and film to mark the end of the school's annual book week.
The week was designed to encourage more 11 to 14-year-olds to read.
Headteacher Barbara Williams said: "The children have again had a fantastic book week.
"They had a great time dressing up as their favourite characters for the grand finale and we look forward to holding another very successful event next year."
Among the other activities held during the week, which ran from March 3 to March 7, were a book fair and a book review competition.
