RESIDENTS are being urged to save their post office from closure.
Eltham High Street's post office has been earmarked for closure as part of a nationwide cull of branches.
The nearest other branches are in Court Yard and West Mount Road, Eltham, which residents say are both a bus journey away.
Sue Parmar, manager of the branch in Eltham High Street, said: "It will add an hour to the elderly's time.
"There are other ways to save money than closing post offices."
She is encouraging residents who come into the branch to write to the Post Office with their objections to the proposed closure.

Dennis Berry, owner of KC Electrical in the same road, said: "There are a lot of old people living in flats in the area and if the post office closes, how will they get their pension?"
A public consultation on closures in London was launched on February 19 and will close on April 2.
To contribute to the consultation, write to National Consultation Team, Post Office Ltd, Freepost, or call 08457 22 33 44.
