A STORY of a creature who is half-man and half-spider has been told as part of a history event.
Storytellers acted out the tales of Anansi the trick-playing spider for around 40 children at the event.
The stories originate from Ghana in west Africa.
A performance was held at the Springfield creche in Langhorne House, Springfield Grove, Charlton.
Afterwards the youngsters, aged five and under, had the chance to play African drums and try a variety of foods from around the world.
The event was organised by housing association Charlton Triangle Homes and Sure Start, the Government-run child welfare programme, as part of Black History Month.
Charlton Triangle Homes neighbourhood manager Nigel Pierce said: "This really was a fantastic multicultural event celebrating the diversity of culture with all the warmth and enrichment of life these events bring."
