POLICE have issued an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious asault.

Lewisham police are keen to speak to the person pictured after a man made threats to a woman and attempted to stab her in the stomach.

He then slashed her face, causing serious injuries, as she tried to fight him off.

The incident took place near Laurence House in Catford Road, Catford, on July 15 at 7.20pm.

The man, who was around 50 years old and six feet tall, ran off behind Laurence House towards Canadian Avenue.

He was wearing a blue baseball cap and possibly an England football shirt.
