THREE teenagers who stabbed, kicked and smashed glass over a stranger's head have been locked up.

Michael Ogbuehi, aged 17, and 16-year-olds Keishema Evans and Nana Bonsu will spend a total of 30 months in a young offenders' institution for their parts in the assault on May 28 last year.

Inner London Crown Court heard the attack began as Ogbuehi, captured on CCTV, walked along Powis Street, Woolwich, holding a knife.

Mr Deria was with his friends when Bonsu ran towards him.

Robert Brown, prosecuting, told the court: "He thought he was going to be hit, so he punched Mr Bonsu in the face.

"At that point he saw Ogbuehi holding a knife and shouted "he's got a knife" to his friends."

Mr Deria ran away but heard Evans, who was nine weeks pregnant, shouting and pointing at him.

He ran into Atlantic clothes shop followed by the three attackers, who smashed him over the head with a sheet of glass.

After Mr Deria was stamped on by Bonsu and kicked, he fell to the floor.

Ogbuehi stabbed him in the leg shortly before police arrived and arrested the trio.

Mr Deria, left with an 8cm gash between his forehead and ear and a 2cm stab wound on his thigh, was treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

Ogbuehi, from Beckton, who is serving 12 months detention for driving while disqualified, admitted GBH with intent.

He was given a 12-month detention order to be served consecutively.

Bonsu, also from Beckton, admitted GBH and was handed 12 months' detention.

Evans, from Balham, received six months' detention after also admitting GBH.

Judge Nicholas Philpot told Evans: "You deserve exactly the same sentence as your co-defendants.

"But I cannot bring myself to impose that sentence, which would mean your child will be born in custody."

He told Ogbuehi: "The stabbing was quite needless and gratuitous since the victim was already defenceless on the ground."

The judge decided to name the teenagers due to the seriousness of the offence.

They were sentenced on March 23.
