A FAMILY is looking for help to find their parrot after it went missing and a caller threatened to sell it on eBay.
The Kumar family lost Ramu, a green Macaw, when the bird flew from their home in Priolo Road, Charlton, on November 1 after hearing a loud bang.
Their hopes were raised when they received an anonymous call from a man on Friday, claiming he had found Ramu.
But the man demanded a £500 ransom and said he would sell the parrot on eBay if the family did not give him the money.
The Kumars arranged to meet the man but he never turned up.
Pam Kumar, 55, said: "This call has greatly upset our family. He's very close to us.
"We hope someone will bring him back. We are happy to reimburse anyone who has paid money for him."
Anyone who finds Ramu should call 07796 305301.
