LONDON'S oldest amenity society will mark its 75th birthday with a massive picnic.
The event, run by the Blackheath Society, is taking place on June 24 from 12.30pm to 3.30pm and is open to all.
People should bring their own food but there will also be a cash bar will be available on the site near Talbot Place.
Entertainment includes face painting, Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides, jugglers and a roving accordion player.
And at 1.30pm, historian Neil Rhind will open the new Hub facility, which chronicles the events taking place on Blackheath.
The Blackheath Society was founded back in 1937, acting as guardians of the open space.
Key issues have included fighting to stop a motorway being built in the 1960s and, more recently, attempting to stop the heath being used for a rock festival.
