A NEW 40-bed community hospital is being planned for Eltham by the area's health trust.
NHS Greenwich wants to demolish the existing buildings - a nursing home, clinic and residential property at the junction of Passey Place and Philipot Path.
Instead, the site would feature a hospital with enough rehabilitation beds for 40 people with long-term conditions.
It would also feature purpose built GP facilities along with access to out-patient, minor surgery and diagnostic services.
The main part of the hospital would be open from 8am to 8pm every day of the year.
A spokesman for NHS Greenwich said: "The hospital will contribute to the improvement the health, well being and life expectancy of residents in Eltham."
No date has been set for when Greenwich Council planning chiefs will consider the application.
