A 17-YEAR-OLD who was chased into a residential Sydenham street and stabbed is now recovering at home.
The teen was pursued into Princethorpe Road by around five youths who proceeded to hit, kick and stab him, witnesses have said.
No arrests have been made over the incident, which happened on Monday (January 30) at around 4.10pm.
Lewisham Police have responded to allegations regarding a lack of patrols in the area, where residents are campaigning to keep their police station open.
A spokeswoman said: “Sydenham Safer Neighbourhoods Team regularly patrol all areas of the ward when on duty.”
She said: “This area is mainly residential and is regularly patrolled by the team.
“We also have a number of neighbourhood watch coordinators and community contacts in this area of the ward.”
