STUDENTS at a school in Blackheath have been inspired by a group of quantity surveyors after they spent the day learning about the trade.
Sixty pupils aged between 13 and 15 from John Roan School, in Maze Hill, met with staff from Wates Interiors Ltd on Friday (June 24) who taught them the basic understanding of trade activities, programming and health and safety.
Fifteen quantity surveyors split the teenagers up into five workstations where they each learnt about an element of construction and surveying.
Wates Interiors site surveyor, Lucie Curran, said: “It was a brilliant day which opened up the children’s eyes.
“It is a different career path which they would not normally think about pursuing. It is an industry where you learn something new every day.”
