A GROUP of councillors enjoyed a game of bowls after being challenged to a match by Lewisham Indoor Bowls Club.
Lewisham Council’s cabinet member for community services, Councillor Chris Best, was joined by councillors Susan Wise, Ami Ibitson and Jacq Paschoud, at the Indoor Bowls Club, in Kangley Bridge Road, Sydenham.
Around 40 people, aged 21 to 80, took part in the event including eight members of staff from Parkwood Leisure, which manages the centre.
Cllr Best said: “It was a lot of fun with many new players trying their hand. Some had never held a bowl before.
“Over the course of the afternoon, we played 13 ends of bowls with three in a team – all of varying ages and experience.
“We all had a great time. I’d recommend both bowling and the Club to anyone.”
