FAMILIES are being encouraged to get their five-a-day from a new fruit and veg stall in Thamesmead.
Trust Thamesmead and Greenwich Community Food Co-op will be launching the stall outside Discovery Primary School in Battery Road, Thamesmead, on September 16.
The not for profit community led stall will be run by volunteers from 11am to 3pm every Thursday.
Trust Thamesmead’s Community Development Officer, Romel Holmes-Lewis said: “We are wanting to encourage the community to eat their five daily portions of fruit and vegetables.
“We hope to encourage people to do just that by making the produce accessible and available at competitive prices.”
The stall will accept Healthy Start discount vouchers, which are given to pregnant women and children under four in low-income families.
