BLACKHEATH: Young people invited to join fencing club

YOUNG people are being invited to join a new youth fencing club.

Blackheath Fencing Club was awarded a £600 grant in May from the Worshipful Company of Cutlers, which is given annually to a London club to develop potential fencers.

It is using the cash to buy new equipment and to set up a youth group for people aged 10 to 16 from Greenwich, Lewisham and Bromley.

Taster sessions will be taking place at Blackheath School for Girls, in Vanbrugh Park, Blackheath, on September 14 and 21 from 6pm to 7.30pm.

There are limited places available so booking is essential.

For more information, call youth development officer Andrew Nisbet, on 020 8309 7827 or visit blackheathfencing.org.uk
