GREENWICH: Restaurant loses roof in fire

A RESTAURANT in Greenwich has been left without a roof after a fire last night (August 31).

The blaze tore through the loft space of Othello's Steak House in Trafalgar Road at around 7pm causing severe damage.

Crews from Greenwich, East Greenwich, Lee Green, Deptford and Old Kent Road were called to the scene and managed to stop it spreading to the rest of the building.

No-one needed to be evacuated from the restaurant as it was closed at the time of the fire.

Firefighters were there for around two hours and the cause is now under investigation.

I'm quite sure it is a Greek owned family business, anyhow glad no one was injured.

I drove past just as the fire started and before the fire brigade got there, the amount of smoke was incredible. I'm glad no one was injured.
