A CHARITY took 400 people on a taxi ride they would never forget.
The Albany Taxi Charity uses black cabs every year to take youngsters with special needs from Bexley, Bromley, Ellenor Lions Hospice in Northfleet, Greenwich and Lewisham on a trip to Hastings.
This year 100 black cab drivers volunteered to make the drive from Charlton’s The Valley football ground , taking 227 children and around 170 carers and parents on the trip.
Children got to visit the town’s aquarium, museums and zoo for free.
There was also a disco and dinner in the evening before the cabs drove everyone back to their homes.
Charity secretary Claire Hughes said: “This was one of the biggest we’ve done. We’re really grateful to everyone.
