A 52-YEAR-OLD man accused of being the Night Stalker sex attacker has appeared in court.

Delroy Grant, of Brockley Mews, Brockley, was arrested on November 15 and has been charged with five rapes, six indecent assaults and 11 burglaries between 1992 and last year.

He appeared at Inner London Crown Court on Friday (April 30) and has been remanded in custody to next appear at Woolwich Crown Court on June 10.

Operation Minstead was set up in 1998 to hunt for a sex attacker dubbed the Night Stalker, who targeted elderly women and men in their homes.

Over the years incidents have taken place in Orpington, Downham, Lee, West Wickham, Bickley, Bromley and Beckenham.

Pensioners in Sidcup, Catford and Forest Hill were also targeted.
