A CONTRA-FLOW bus lane has been given the green light as part of a series of improvements to junctions near the Greenwich Peninsula.
Members of Greenwich Council's Greenwich area planning and environment committee approved introduction of the new lane in Westcombe Hill at a meeting on October 6.
The proposals are aimed at resolving difficulties and delays experienced by buses negotiating the junctions in Westerdale Road, as well as Combedale Road.
Delays are also experienced if buses travelling in the opposite direction meet at the junction of Combedale Road and Woolwich Road.
London Buses is considering re-routing one bus route in order to provide a direct service from Westcombe Hill which would serve the Sainsbury's supermarket in Horn Lane.
