YOUNGSTERS have been learning how to become responsible citizens by taking part in workshops.
Around 1,000 primary school children across Lewisham took part in the interactive scenarios which required them to make decisions about personal safety and the safety of others.
The sessions focused on mobile phone crime, road safety, environmental education, fire safety and first aid.
Sergeant Steve Marks, who organised the scheme for Lewisham police, said: “These pupils will be taking on more responsibility for their own safety when they make the transition to secondary school.
“During these sessions, the children experience an idea of risk in a safe, fun and controlled learning environment. ”
The ten minute sessions, held at Lee Fire Station, were organised by Lewisham Met Police, Lewisham Council, London Fire Brigade, St John Ambulance, Transport for London, and the Dogs Trust.
