A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed after raping one young man and sexually assaulting another in May last year.

Mohammed Caid, of Longshore, Deptford, gave a 20-year-old man a lift home in the early hours of May 19 after spending the night at Heaven nightclub in Charing Cross.

Caid stopped the car at Fordham Park in New Cross and sexually assaulted his victim.

Six days later Caid went to the same club and gave two men, aged 18 and 19, a lift to Fenchurch Street station.

He dropped them off but followed the pair and persuaded the 18-year-old to get back into the car. Caid drove his victim to nearby Savage Gardens and raped him.

The victim's friend tried to follow the car and rang 999 before calling Caid, who dropped-off the 18-year-old back at the station before driving away.

After the teenagers returned to their Essex homes they reported the rape to police.

City of London Police worked with the Sapphire Unit at Lewisham to arrest Caid at his home on May 25.

Lewisham police investigating officer Detective Constable Samantha Searle, said: “These were calculated attacks. The offender approached both these men as they were leaving Heaven nightclub.

"The offender was targeting people who were particularly vulnerable as they had gone out to have a good time, they had been drinking and their guards were down.

"However, for two men the case is over, and the offender cannot continue to attack further people."

She added: "I hope the courage of the victims in going through this court case will lead other victims to come forward and report these crimes. We will investigate all allegations of sexual abuse.”

Caid pleaded not guilty to three offences in connection with the attacks but was convicted by a jury after a two-week trial at Woolwich Crown Court and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
