POLICE are appealing for help in catching people who have assaulted bus drivers in Lewisham and Bromley.
New CCTV images have been released through Operation BusTag, a collaboration between the Met Police, bus companies and Transport for London.
Once again BusTag has enlisted the help of News Shopper's award-winning Shop A Yob campaign because of its success in putting names to faces captured on CCTV.
A bus driver was sworn at, verbally threatened and then punched in the ribs by a youth who boarded a 126 bus at Grove Park station heading towards Bromley at 3.28pm on August 13 last year. The youth was denied access by the driver after using an out-of-date Oyster card which was confiscated.
A revenue inspector was headbutted and punched after an altercation over an Oyster card with a youth who boarded the 185 bus where Stanstead Road joins Brockley Rise on August 30 last year at 9.48am.
On August 22 last year at 8.30am a 261 bus travelling along Baring Road towards St Mildreds Road in Grove Park was stopped because of a damaged wing mirror. The driver asked all of the passengers to get off but a youth threw a milkshake over the driver before kicking the bus and throwing a large brick which smashed one of the bus’s windows.
If you recognise anyone in the pictures, call BusTag on 020 7027 8950 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
