POLICE have released CCTV images of a man officers want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault.

British Transport Police say a 22-year-old woman was assaulted on a train travelling from Charing Cross on February 16.

She was approached at around 9.20pm by a man who got on at Waterloo East and sat next to her, despite the carriage being relatively empty.

He is then alleged to have sexually touched the woman several times before she managed to get away.

The man got off the train at Blackheath.

He is described as being black, with a shaved head, about 5ft 11in tall, and aged in his mid to late-20s.

The man was wearing a double-breasted light beige jacket, light beige trousers, black shoes and was carrying a large black bag.

Police also want to trace a potential witness who helped the victim.

He is described as being white, in his 50s, with a large build.

The witness had white hair and a white beard and may have connections to the Eltham area.
