TWO stabbing victims have been arrested, with one of them charged, after an incident in Blackheath on Monday (January 12).

A 16-year-old boy, was found in Combe Avenue at around 3.15pm with a stab wound to the chest.

He remains in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The second victim, aged 17, was taken into custody at Plumstead police station on Monday evening after being treated in hospital for a stab wound to the face.

The 17-year-old has now been charged with possessing an offensive weapon and affray, and is appearing at Camberwell Green Youth Court this morning.

A nearby resident, who did not want to be named, said he saw a carving knife on the pavement in Westcombe Park Road and overheard someone say it had been dropped as someone ran away.

Other nearby residents said between 20 and 30 police officers were called to the scene.

They say officers took a police dog into a block of flats on nearby Vanbrugh Park Road.

A Greenwich council spokesman said the incident did not involve any pupils from the nearby John Roan School in Westcombe Park Road.
