MURDER CHARGE: A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder after police discovered the body of John Howell, 24, of Southend Lane, Bellingham, at the weekend. Unemployed Eugene Sinclair of Milford Towers, Catford, was charged by police on June 29, and appeared at Greenwich Magistrates' Court the following day.

DISCIPLINED: Police officers have been disciplined after boasting about their crashes on social networking website Facebook. The group included comments and pictures of crashes posted by people claiming to be officers from Greenwich and Lewisham. A Met Police spokesman said 18 officers are subject to formal discipline proceedings, 14 had been given written warnings and four given words of advice. Five officers have been advised about their conduct.

EXHIBITION: The lives of people who worked at the Royal Arsenal are the focus of the Work, Rest and Play exhibition at the Heritage Centre, at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, from July 5 until August 30.

GET SET: The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Get Set London roadshow will arrive at Mountsfield Park, Lewisham, on July 12.
