A BEAUTY queen brushed aside her rivals at the Miss Universe final to win an award for best hair.
Kertreena Williams, 23, from Catford took part in the final at Cafe de Paris in Central London on May 4.
Around 40 contestants from across the UK took part in the competition, which is one of the longest running beauty pageants in the world.
By participating, Ms Willliams helped raise more than £35,000 for the The Joshua Foundation charity which arranges family holidays and days out for children suffering from terminal cancer.
She was beaten to the Miss Universe UK title by Lisa Lazarus, from Llanelli in Wales, who will travel to Vietnam in June to compete in the Miss Universe final.
Event organiser Paula Abbandonato from Vibe Models said: "This is, without doubt, the opportunity of a lifetime for someone."
