BEAVERS have cleared rubbish from a park to earn themselves a new badge.
Youngsters from 1st Genesis Beavers, Royal Eltham, are working on their Global Challenge award, part of which requires them to organise an activity to improve the environment.
The six to eight-year-olds spent last Wednesday evening picking up litter at Avery Hill Park, New Eltham.
They were supported by the friends of the park and Greenwich Council's environment team.
Beaver Scout leader Lorraine Ball said: "It makes them aware, if they drop something, what the consequences are."
In a bid to complete the challenge, the Beavers have also planted trees and flowers outside their HQ in Forty Foot Way.
