Club to help shy speakers find their voice

4:30pm Friday 29th February 2008

A NEW club aims to give people the confidence to speak in public.

The Greenwich Speaking Club will meet twice a month to help people from all walks of life hone their speaking skills.

President Stanley Tseke said: "Public speaking is not just relevant to professionals. Even if you don't speak for a living, some day, some time, you may need to.

"It's a very friendly environment and some people just come for the social aspect, but by attending you will learn from others on how to speak."

The club's annual membership fee is £30. It costs £3 per meeting and £10 for a manual.

People get in free for their first two meetings.

The club meets at The Spanish Galleon pub in Greenwich Church Street, Greenwich.
