YOUNGSTERS can find out if they have Chlamydia at a health event.

Goodie bags and free testing for the sexually transmitted infection will be on offer together with advice and information during the two day roadshow.

It is being held on August 5 and 7 between 4pm and 8pm in Queen's Gardens, behind The Glades shopping centre, Bromley.

Bromley Primary Care Trust's health improvement service is working with the Youth Service and Bromley Drugs and Alcohol Service to put on the event.

Danielle Hammond, a specialist young people's adviser at the trust, said: "While young people are on holiday from school and college over the summer we are keen to remind them that too much alcohol can seriously affect decisions and judgement when it comes to sexual behaviour."

Chlamydia is certainly not fashionable or trendy, It is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. Both men and women can get it. Most people won't know they have it because they won't have any symptoms. It is easy to treat with a course of tablets. Untreated it can lead to serious health problems including infertility. Best to prevent it by always using a condom and using it properly.
