Meridian Radio based at Queen Elizabeth hospital will broadcast Olympic torch arrival online

A HOSPITAL radio station is getting ready to broadcast online for the first time - with live coverage of the Olympic torch arrival.

Meridian Radio, based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, will hit the internet on July 21.

Its team of volunteers will be reporting from Greenwich for the arrival of the Olympic torch.

Station manager Alan King said: "This is something we’ve wanted to do for some time.

"It not only gives patients another way of listening to us, but also helps us reach out to residents of the borough and the local community."
