Princess Royal midwives named best in UK

A MIDWIFERY team has been named the best in the UK this year.
The Princess Royal’s Oasis Midwifery Led Unit got the prize for their dynamism, commitment and enthusiasm.
It was presented to them by the Royal College of Midwives.
Chief midwife Donna Ockenden said: “The team’s commitment to and enthusiasm for the Oasis Unit is fantastic.
“They have ensured that well over a thousand women and their families have had a really positive experience of birth in the last 18 months.
“The Oasis unit is a very popular service for pregnant women in south east London, offering a home-from-home experience for women going through labour but with the security of being close to emergency help if required.”

What you've heard may be true for the Labour Ward but this article refers to the Oasis Unit midwives being amed the best in the UK, and from my wifes experience at this ew suite, I would say this is a throughly well deserved award.
The MW's at the Oasis allowed my wife to have her labour exactly as she wanted it, which made for a happy and comfortable birth experience. So much so that in the recovery ward, her words were "When can we do it again?".
