AN UPDATE on plans to create a health campus at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup has been sought by Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett.
The plans would mean NHS trusts, GPs and the council working together to provide the care needed most in Bexley.
In a letter to NHS London chief executive Dame Ruth Carnall, Mr Evennett wrote: “The financial situation facing South London Healthcare NHS Trust is still of real concern, as is the condition of some areas of the Hospital. I am therefore keen that the health campus proposals can be developed further and changes delivered as soon as possible.”
NHS South East London, and Bexley Business Support Unit’s joint managing director, Dr Joanne Medhurst thanked Mr Evennett for his ‘continued support and enthusiasm’.
Dr Medhurst said she was working with MPs, councilors, regional and national NHS bodies and other organisations ‘to ensure that Queen Mary’s provides the very best services possible for local people and could become the blueprint for other areas of the country aiming to modernise healthcare’.
