BROMLEY: Primary Care Trust rewards chlamydia initiatives

PHARMACIES and GP practices have been rewarded for their work tackling the problem of the sexually transmitted disease chlamydia.
Bromley NHS Primary Care Trust (PCT) has been encouraging GPs and pharmacy bosses to drive up the numbers of under 25s having chlamydia tests as part of a national screening programme.
Last week the PCT rewarded the most successful services with a hamper of chocolate.
The winners were Southborough Lane Practice in Bromley Common, Bank House Surgery in Farnborough and The Woodlands Practice in Chislehurst.
The top pharmacy was Village Pharmacy in Farnborough.
A PCT spokesman said: “GP practices and pharmacies have been encouraged to support the testing because they can directly influence young people by explaining to them why it is so important to be tested.”
