A HOSPITAL opening a new birth centre wants to hear from mothers-to-be.
The new centre at University Hospital Lewisham, is led entirely by midwives and is designed for women who expect to have a straightforward pregnancy and birth.
A birth centre questionnaire can be downloaded from the Trust website and then emailed to the hospital.
Women and their partners attending the antenatal clinic at the hospital and people attending appointments with their community midwife are also being given a questionnaire.
The centre, which opens in April, will have five en-suite birthing rooms with aids such as balls, support slings and bean bags to encourage an active birth experience.
Head of midwifery, Pauline Esson, said: “This new Birth Centre is all about giving women more choice about where and how they have their babies.
