82% say Government is 'out of touch'

David Cameron has been criticised for the Government's handling of the fuel dispute and Budget tax cuts
DAVID Cameron's Government is seen as out of touch by four in five voters, according to a poll.
Only 18 per cent regard the coalition as in touch with the concerns of ordinary people, the Angus Reid survey for The Sunday Express newspaper found.
Some 82 per cent feel it is not.
The poll comes after Conservative MP Nadine Dorries criticised the prime minister and Chancellor George Osborne for being "two arrogant posh boys who show no remorse, no contrition and no passion to want to understand the lives of others".
She said there was a clique at the top of the Government that prevented Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne "understanding or knowing what is happening in the rest of the country".
The prime minister, who has been under fire for the Government's handling of the fuel dispute and for tax cuts announced in the Budget, promised to "stay in touch".
"People in this country - they are struggling to meet their bills, they are having a tough time. I understand that," he said on Monday.
Angus Reid interviewed 2,002 people on April 27.
A second poll last night (April 28) put the Conservatives on their lowest rating since 2004.
The YouGov survey for The Sunday Times suggested support for the Tories had fallen to 29 per cent, while Labour was on 40 per cent.
The Liberal Democrats were on 11 per cent only marginally ahead of the UK Independence Party on 10 per cent.
The figures will make unhappy reading for the coalition parties ahead of this Thursday's council elections.
YouGov interviewed 1,717 adults on Thursday and Friday.

Their sole answer to each and every question was "We need to get out of the EU", and they looked embarrassingly blank when I asked them if their party would hold a referendum on the suburbs being able to leave Greater London! They are a waste of time, I shall be voting for the English Democrats.
However, there is a party which IS IN TOUCH… Vote UKIP on Thursday… And vote often (joke... unless you are reading this in Tower Hamlets)
