Cyclists to peddle 250 miles across Vietnam to raise cash for charity
3:36pm Friday 13th April 2012 in Greenwich news By Alan Woods
Paul Constable and Marie Mansfield.
A KEEN cyclist from Dartford has persuaded his girlfriend to ‘get on her bike’ and help him raise money in memory of his Nan.
Paul Constable, 22, of Havelock Road in Dartford is planning to cycle 250 miles across Vietnam next March to raise cash for cancer charity the Lymphoma Association.
He says the main motivation behind the journey is his Nan, who died of Lymphoma in 2010.
Paul has recruited his girlfriend and rookie cyclist, Marie Mansfield, 22, of Priory Drive in Abbey Wood, to join him on his five-day cycling trek.
He said: “It’s going to be such a challenge but it will be so rewarding to think how much we will be raising by doing this sort of once in a lifetime experience.”
The pair much each raise £3,000 before they jet off to Asia next year and a recent 80 mile static cycle ride in Dartford town centre raised a handy £117.
