THAMESMEAD residents have been celebrating receiving community development certificates in association with charity Trust Thamesmead.
A total of 57 people - 46 from Thamesmead - enrolled in courses designed to teach members of community groups about problem solving, dealing with new challenges and leadership.
Those that completed the free courses were invited to an awards and networking event at Greenwich Community College on February 15.
Trust Thamesmead outreach worker Sarah Feleppa said: "I am so pleased with how these courses have gone so far.
"Those taking part have really thrown themselves into it, taking their learning and applying it to their work and community projects.
"It has been an absolute pleasure working with the college and the learners."
The next round of taster courses begins in March and is open to anyone over 16 who lives, works or volunteers in Thamesmead.
