A BROMLEY dragon boat racer will be joining the Queen for her diamond jubilee celebrations in June as of a river pageant.
The Queen will be leading 1,000 vessels along the Thames on June 3 as part of her celebrations.
Peter Li, of College Road, Bromley, has been selected as part of a crew from Thames Dragons, a dragon boat club in east London.
He said: “It’s quite exciting, a once in a lifetime opportunity for us.
“I saw on the news about a year ago they were looking for boats to take part so I decided we should get involved.
"We love taking part in anything like this. I think it’s going to be a good party.”
The Queen will head the flotilla on a specially made barge and will be followed by 1,000 decorated boats from Hammersmith to Greenwich.
