If you fancy yourself as an expert in what makes a truly great tasting beer, there’s a tournament coming up in Woolwich for you.
At the new Street Feast there will be a Craft Beer Battle where the public will decide which of 40 different beers is the best.
Each person entering as a judge will be given 20 different beers – 10 lagers and 10 ales – from their selection of 40 to sample.
That’s not 20 different pints of beers just to be clear. You get 100ml tasters to savour, which equals to about roughly three and a half pints.
Each beer is served blind with not even the bartenders at the indoor Woolwich Market knowing what they are serving you.
You don’t even need to be an expert, despite what we implied earlier. All you need to do is vote for which beer you tried was your favourite.
Tickets to this ultimate battle of beer cost £15 at streetfeast.com/craft-beer-battle-2 and with that you get the 20 different beers to sample.
The event starts at midday on Sunday May 6 at Woolwich Street Feast on Plumstead Road with the winner being announced at 5pm, and all the beers will be available to buy throughout the day.
