A “dangerous sex offender” who filmed himself sexually assaulting a woman while she was sleeping after he plied her with alcohol and drugs has been jailed.

Gary Warman, 31, was sentenced to ten years and six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to 17 offences of sexual assault and three counts of making indecent images of children.

Police raided Warman’s Eltham home, in Purneys Road, on January 10 where they found a computer filled with indecent images of children.

Officers also found a number of videos which Warman had filmed on his phone of himself sexually assaulting a sleeping woman.

Warman was arrested, charged on August 25, and finally jailed on October 27 at Woolwich Crown Court.

Detective Sergeant Billy Clough, who led the investigation, said: "Warman is a dangerous, predatory sex offender who repeatedly targeted a woman while she was asleep.

"The lengthy sentence handed to Warman reflects the severity of his crimes. This case demonstrates the Met's commitment to prosecuting perpetrators of sexual abuse and those who use the internet to download indecent images of children."
