An allotment built by the local Gurkha community in Eltham went up in smoke after a fire burnt the whole thing down.
London Fire Brigade were called to a fire at the Middle Park allotments at 5.20pm yesterday (October 31).
A shed just inside the entrance, built by the Gurkha Society according to locals, went up in flames.
Tony Grayson wrote on Facebook: “I drove past just before the fire brigade arrived, the heat that came from it was crazy. I had windows up the whole car went hot.”
The fire was put out within half an hour but the shed and accompanying greenhouse was completely destroyed in the blaze.
Deborah Grayson took the video from her window and went down in the morning to see the destruction.
She said: “The Gurkha’s shed this morning, everything was destroyed from their plot.”
