Street artists will be banding together in Greenwich to revive the ancient craft of fan making.
Cited by the Heritage Craft Association as at “serious risk of no longer being practiced”, the fans will be on display at The Fan Museum (naturally) in Greenwich.
The doors to the display of 50 original folding fans made in the collaboration will open on September 19.
Jacob Moss, curator of The Fan Museum, said: “Street art has achieved global recognition and the artists participating in this project each bring a unique and potentially transformative perspective to the craft of fan making.
“Their unconventional, sometimes rebellious designs have prompted Le Guen, arguably Europe’s leading contemporary fan maker, to work in similarly imaginative ways. The exhibition promises a visual spectacle not to be missed.”
